VideoCrunch Codec

The low bit-rate VideoCrunch® Codec is a complete hardware design that incorporates AVT’s patented video compression algorithm. It has been implemented as a complete wireless video compression solution: AVT’s VCU 3000.

AVT’s codec design is being made available as a standard VHDL module for companies wanting to embed a complete low-power, area-efficient video compression engine in their products.

The VideoCrunch® Codec conforms to the MPEG-4 standard. MPEG-4 is a preferred international standard for encoding and decoding in wireless multimedia applications. Its compression algorithms are well suited to narrow-band applications including Internet video streaming, wireline and wireless videotelephony, and videoconferencing.
